Tinubu visits Ogun, commissions airport, airline, other infrastructure projects

President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, visited Ogun State, to commission and inspect a sweeping array of landmark projects, an indication of its bold stride toward infrastructural transformation, economic expansion and improved service delivery.

At the forefront of the visit is the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport, Iperu—an ambitious project designed to position Ogun State as a major aviation and logistics hub in Nigeria.

President Tinubu also commissioned two newly acquired aircraft under Gateway Air, marking the official takeoff of the state’s aviation initiative in partnership with ValueJet.

Further underscoring the airport’s economic potential, the President will witness a cargo operations showcase facilitated by SAHCOL, signaling readiness for full-scale logistics and freight activities.

In addition, a number of strategic assets will be commissioned at the airport, including 1,000 electric bikes under the state’s EV mobility initiative, 80 security vehicles to strengthen safety architecture, and a fleet of agricultural tractors aimed at boosting food production and supporting farmers.

Beyond the airport, the President will commission the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, a vital link connecting the new aviation hub to surrounding communities and enhancing accessibility.

Oba Ogunye’s 10th Coronation Anniversary Promises To Be Memorable, Says Rowaiye

As His Royal Highness, Oba Aderemi Adewale Ogunye (JP), the Abijaparako of Japara, Ijebu Igbo commemorates ten years on the throne of his forefathers, chairman of the anniversary committee, Otunba Dr. Babatunde Rowaiye, JP has pledged a memorable and rich event.

Row Radio reports that, Rowaiye, who is also the Maiyegun of Ijebu-Igbo said the central working committee constituted by the Kabiyesi Ogunye would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the task and mandate given them is well executed.

In a statement made available to Row Radio by the Abijaparako in council, members of the committee include Mr Dotun Fasanya, Hon. Mrs Durojaiye Ajibade Musari, Otunba (Aare) Yinka Olanrewaju, Chief Temitayo Rowaiye, Otun Jagunmolu Babatunde Ganiyu and Otunba Jide Fowode.

The statement further informs that details of the coronation anniversary, scheduled to hold from Friday 15^th to Sunday 17^th May, 2026 would be communicated soon.

According to Otunba Odo Sigboro Japara, Dr Rowaiye, the anniversary would promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Japara, and Ijebu Igbo in general, showcase developmental milestones recorded so far and strengthen bonds among indigenes at home and in the diaspora.

Eid-el-Fitr: FG declares Thursday, Friday public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

Row Radio Online reports that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on Tuesday on behalf of the Federal Government.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary, ministry of the ministry, Magdalene Ajani, said the minister extended warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the fasting period.

Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of love, generosity, peace, tolerance and sacrifice, which were emphasised during the holy month of Ramadan.

Eid-el-Fitr signifies the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
